A Morning in Wat Arun

The Temple of Dawn. It is named after Aruna, the Indian God of Dawn in honour of the symbolic founding of the New Ayutthaya. It's situated at the Thonburi west bank of the Chao Phraya River. It was beautiful from afar but for me it was in the details. The spires were decorated with tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain, a common temple ornamentation in the early Ratanakosin period. I've heard it's beautiful out here on sunset or when it lights up at night. But the early morning isn't too bad at all.
